Prof. Dr. Herwig Hofmann

Herwig C. H. Hofmann is Professor of European and Transnational Public Law at the University of Luxembourg and founding director of its Robert Schuman Institute of European Affairs. His research interests are in the field of European and comparative public law as well as international economic law focussing on modes of accountability in networked, multi-level legal structures. Hofmann works on fundamental rights protection and litigates before the CJEU. He has been advisor to national governments and European institutions and is frequently invited as visiting professor, most recently in Spring 2018 at Columbia Law School in New York.
